BIOGRAPHY

Suzanne Southerton is a British artist specialising in figurative and portrait painting, based in Bedfordshire, UK. 

2001 - Art & Design Foundation Course Castlereagh College Belfast

2001-2004 - Ulster University - BA (hons) Fine and Applied Arts

2003 - The Mall Galleries A.F.A.S. Annual Exhibition

Award - High Recommendation for "4 me 2 u".

        Award - High Recommendation for "Hannah".

        Award - The Worshipful Company of Painter/Stainers Award for double self-portrait.

Ulster University - The Daler-Rowney Award

2004 - Post Graduate Degree selection Tour

2017 - Oil Beginners Art - teaching for the M.o.D. in Germany.

2018 - Oil Beginners Art - teaching for the M.o.D. in Germany.

2018 - Art as Therapy - monthly courses started, as another means of coping for P.T.S.D veterans, returning               from duty and transitioning to civilian life. Teaching for the M.o.D. in Germany.

           Teaching was incredibly rewarding for Suzy personally:

' Helping someone to express themselves in another medium and manner is life-affirming and humbling. There are human mental states which cannot be verbalised easily.'

2019 - Suzy's husband left the Army and they relocated from Germany back to the UK, settling in                                 Leighton Buzzard where since January 2021 Suzy has been working on                                             

           commissioned portraits and her portfolio.
